The queens in our hives include both locally-adapted queens raised by our own bees and professionally produced purebred queens of different types. Queen Osa is our oldest living queen, hatched around May 20th, 2019. She has a green dot of paint on her thorax, indicating that 2019 is the year she hatched.
Our active queen lines:
Our Ursula queen line is descended from an Italian-Carniolan hybrid package queen from 2018. The line includes Osa, Demeter Jr., Zorro, Persephone, Cleopatra, Angelica Jr., and Ursa Minor.
Queen Saskia is the locally-bred daughter of an OHB Saskatraz queen.
Queen Maya is an OHB Carniolan queen.
Queen Marzanna is an OHB Russian queen.
